SYNTHESIS SPECTRAL CHARACTERIZATION AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITIES OF ZINC OXIDE NANOPARTICLE

R.KAVITHA and Dr.P.S.SUJA PON MINI

The present investigation deals with facile polyol mediated synthesis and characterization of ZnO nanoparticles and their antimicrobial activities against pathogenic microorganisms. Our aim is to prepare the Nano Coagulant of  and zinc oxide and the effect of Capping agent, pH and Temperature on this preparation. ZnO  was prepared by Chemical precipitation method. It has diverse Physical and Chemical properties. Coagulation is the process used widely in Water Technology. So various methods were used trial and finally the Chemical precipitation method was chosen because of its importance and chemicals available in laboratory. Here the action of capping agent, pH and the temperature are also studied by preparing the sample using the chemical precipitation method. Prepared ZnO  nano particle will be characterized by XRD, FTIR,UV spectra and checking the Anti-Bactrial, Anti-Fungal activities. Advances in nanoscale science and engineering suggest that many of the current problems involving water quality could be resolved or greatly diminished by using nonabsorbent, nanocatalysts, bioactive nanoparticles, nanostructured catalytic membranes, submicron, nanopowder, nanotubes, magnetic nanoparticles, granules, flake, high surface area metal particle supramolecular assemblies with characteristic length scales of 9-10 nm including clusters, micromolecules, nanoparticles and colloids have a significant impact on water quality in natural environment.
