SYNTHESIS OF CERIA AND TRANSITION METAL DOPED CERIA NANOPARTICLES PREPARED USING AZADIRACHTAINDICA LEAF EXTRACTS

Dr.D.Saravanan

Nanoparticles are the spearheads of the rapidly expanding field of nanotechnology. The cerium oxide nanoparticles, which consist of a cerium core surrounded by an oxygen lattice have shown promise in a number of applications. The cerium oxide nanoparticles (CeO2 NPs) and M2+ doped CeO2 NPs were prepared using the Azadirachta indica (A.indica) leaf extracts. The synthesized CeO2 NPsand M2+ doped CeO2 NPs were characterized by UV-Visible spectroscopy. The various functional groups were confirmed by FT-IR spectrum. The X-ray diffraction studies confirmed that transition metal doped CeO2 NPs were exhibited the cubic structure. The FESEM images of shows the CeO2 NPs have exhibited spherical structure. Elemental compositions were identified by EDAX spectra. Photoluminescence spectral analysis, small shift observed for emission of the CeO2 NPs values as compared to that of the transition metal ions doped CeO2 NPs emission values. The antifungal studies were performed against a candida albicans strain.
