SYNTHESIS, GROWTH AND CHARACTERIZATION OF PIPERAZINIUM p-AMINOBENZOATE AND PIPERAZINIUM p-CHLOROBENZOATE NONLINEAR OPTICAL SINGLE CRYSTALS
Crystals are the acknowledged pillars of modern technology. Without crystals, there would be no electronic industry to photonic industry, no fiber optic communications, which depend on materials/crystals such as semiconductors, supercondoctors, polarizers, transducers, radiation detectors, ultrasonic amplifiers, ferrites, magnetic garnets, solid state lasers, non-linear optics, piezo- electric , electro-optic, acousto-optic, photosensitive, refractory of different grades, systalline films for microelectronics and computer Industries. Crystal growth is an intersdisciplinary subject covering physics, chemistry, material science, chemical engineering, metallorgy, crystallography, mineralogy, etc. In the past few decades, there has been a growing interest on crystal growth process, particularly in view of the increasing demand of materials for technological applications. Non Linear Optical (NLO) Organic Compound, piperazinium p-chlorobenzoate (PCP) was synthesized by slow evaporation solution growth method using acetone as a solvent from the powder XRD pattern, the various planes of reflections were identified. From the single XRD characterization the crystal structure cell parameter were identified. The functional groups present in the grown PCP crystal have been identified by FTIR and FT-Raman spectral analyses. The optical absorption coefficient (α) and energy band gap (Eg) of the crystal were determined using UV transition mechanism of ions. PL spectral studies of PCP showed a intense emission peak at 491 nm, 538 nm, 594 mm for an excitation wavelength of 350nm. High Intensity green emission in peak observed at 594 nm.
