RESPONSE OF SHOOT AND ROOT DEVELOPMENT OF SEVEN TOMATO CULTIVARS IN HYDROPHONIC SYSTEM UNDER WATER STRESS
The goal of this study was to assess how grand fast lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.), grown in an indoor hydrophonic system (a wick system), responded to various illumination conditions. The treatment in this study consisted of a single factor (lighting types) with five levels: sunlight (N0), two tubes of 18-watt fluorescent lighting (N1), two sets of 36-watt LED lights and one tube of 150-watt halogen lighting (N2), two sets of 36-watt LED lights plus two tubes of 18-watt fluorescent lighting (N3), and a 150-watt bulb (N4). Except for plants treated with sunlight, which were housed in a miniature greenhouse, each treatment consisted of four plants that were cultivated in a plywood growth chamber measuring 60 by 60 by 120 cm. Results indicated that among the growing plants.
