Abstract :
Andrographisechioides (L.)Nees.(Acanthaceae) is reported for its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, antioxidant and antimicrobial activities. Phytochemical activities on the ethonolic leaf extract revealed the presence of tannins and glycosides. Antimicrobial and antiulcer activities of this plant could be attributed to the presence of tannins and glycosides.  Phytochemicals are natural and non nutritive bioactive compounds that act as protective agents against external stress and pathogenic attack. In an effort to identify maximum number of phytochemicals in the leaves of Andrographisechioides number of phytochemicals are tested using standard methods have been identified and enlisted.  Antimicrobial, hepatoprotective and anti inflammatory effects of this plant could be explained.
