Ni-Mn-Ga MAGNETIC SHAPE MEMORY ALLOY’S MICROSTRUCTURE AND MARTENSITIC TRANSFORMATION
Investigations have been done into the impact of annealing on the microstructure, crystal structure, martensitic transformation temperature, and magnetization of the raw and annealed Ni-Mn-Ga alloy. The current work suggests that annealing improves the magnetic characteristics of the Ni-Mn-Ga ferromagnetic shape memory alloys by stabilizing the microstructure, lowering the range of martensitic transition temperature, and stabilizing the microstructure. The outcome demonstrated here also demonstrates how annealing separates the coexisting austenite and martensite phases from the as-prepared specimen. Due to the extremely limited magnetic hysteresis of the Ni49.5Mn29.3Ga21.2 alloy, its potential use in micro-actuators is anticipated.
