LITERATURE AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING AND LEARNING: A MUTUAL ASSOCIATION

A.S.Geetha, B.Balasubashini, S.Ambika, M.S.Revathi

A detailed examination of literature and language reveals a connection between the two. This intimate connection between the two is clear because, by all accounts, literature presumes language. It is impossible to talk about literature without bringing up language. Due to this duality, Literature Professors spend a significant portion of their class time discussing the plots, themes, and social, cultural, and religious ramifications of the required literary texts rather than actually teaching the writings themselves and English Language Teaching involves usage of literature texts to teach language specifications and nuances.
