IMPLEMENTATION AND VERIFICATION OF OPEN SHORTEST PATH FIRST

Dr.S.Selvakumar, K.Karnan

Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) is an Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) used to distribute routing information within a single Autonomous System (AS). OSPF is a link-state routing protocol, which means that changes in routing are based on the status and speeds of the physical links in the networked routers, and changes are immediately propagated to every router on the network. This paper presents the implementation and verification of OSPF in a simulated network environment. The implementation was carried out using the Mininet network emulator. The verification was performed using the OSPFTest application. The results of the implementation and verification show that OSPF can be successfully implemented and verified in a simulated network environment. The paper makes the following contributions:It presents an implementation of OSPF in a simulated network environment. It presents a verification of OSPF using the OSPFTest application. It shows that OSPF can be successfully implemented and verified in a simulated network environment. The paper concludes that OSPF is a reliable and efficient routing protocol that can be used to distribute routing information within a single AS.
