Abstract :
Rohinton Mistry is a popular contemporary Indian writer famous for his social and political related novels. This research consists of five chapters. Chapter I deal with the Introduction to Indian literature, Rohinton Mistry and his works. Chapter II discusses Rohinton Mistry as the special kind of narrative technique where politics also plays a major role in his novels. Chapter III shows the unfulfilled middle class life. Chapter IV in turn wholly explains about the Hope and Despair in Rohinton Mistry's Such a Long Journey. His writings are tremendous operations of Indian history which is linked to interrupt everyday life. Chapter V is the conclusion that hope springs eternal in the human heart
