GREED AND RAVISHMENT IN WALTER MOSLEY’S DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS

Literature is interpreted as books and other written works, especially those regarded as having creative or artistic worth or strong value. Literature is classified according to whether it is fiction or nonfiction and whether it is poetry or prose. It can be more famous according to major forms such as the novel, short story or drama. Scientific subject books are examples of scientific literature. Walter Mosley is an American novelist famous for mysterious novel. Devil in a Blue Dress contributes significantly to the literary debate on the definition of whiteness. Easy Rawlins is the protagonist of this novel. The socio-historical construction of whiteness emerging from the novel is amplified by white imagery dovetailing with the claims made about white people directly. Mosley associates' whiteness with death. This research consists of some chapters. The  deals with the introduction to American literature, Walter Mosley and his works. It  discusses about Walter Mosley's styles and techniques of his writing  focused on the detailed analysis of characters like Easy Rawlins, Dewitt Albright, Daphne Monet, Mouse and so on.  It focused  on the theme of Greed and Ravishment in Walter Mosley's Devil in a Blue Dress. Rawlins investigates a woman about the mysterious in theft of money. He was sexual with are the girls at the investigation. The story deals with the conclusion of the research done on the novel Devil in a Blue.
