GOLD NANOPARTICLES LASER ABLATED IN ETHANOL FOR BIOSENSORS: OPTICAL AND STRUCTURAL PROPERTIES

K.Saravanan, B.Kumar, K.Bhuvaneswari, J.Udayaseelan

This paper investigates the effects of laser wavelength on the physical properties of gold nano particles (Au NPs) ablated using laser ablation in ethanol. The technique uses a high-purity gold target and a tattoo removal Q-switching Nd:YAG laser with a 6 nanosecond pulse duration, 2000 mj energy, 500 laser pulses, and 6 Hz frequency. The gold NPs were investigated using structural, X-ray diffraction, and optical analysis. The results show that the best preparation conditions for ablating nanoparticles are 532 nm and 1064 nm, respectively.
