FINGERPRINT-BASED STUDENT ATTENDANCE SYSTEM USING GSM
This paper proposes a fingerprint-based student attendance system using GSM technology. The system consists of a terminal fingerprint acquisition module and an attendance module. It can automatically acquire fingerprint information, process it, transmit it wirelessly, match fingerprints, and generate an attendance report. After taking the attendance, the system sends the attendance of each student to their parent's mobile phone through GSM.The proposed system has several advantages over traditional attendance systems. First, it is more accurate and reliable, as it is based on biometrics. Second, it is more efficient, as it eliminates the need for manual attendance taking. Third, it is more secure, as it is difficult to forge a fingerprint. Fourth, it is more convenient, as parents can receive SMS notifications of their children's attendance.The system was implemented and tested in a school setting. The results showed that the system was able to accurately and reliably record student attendance. The system was also found to be efficient, secure, and convenient.
