EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON CONCRETE REPLACEMENT OF FINE AGGREGATE BY USING CRUMB RUBBER AND MANUFACTURING SAND
India is a second largest country in high population. Due to improve in technology, number of commercial and personal vehicles usage is also increased. Rubber tire is the most essential thing in locomotives. So it is estimated that more than 270 million scrap-tires weighing more than 3 Million tons are produced in India each year. These tiers are non-biodegradable causes various pollutions in soil, water and air. And also causes some health issues to living things. So recycling of this waste tire is required. In construction field, the waste tires can be mixed with asphalt and concrete with permissible amount to recycle the tire. Concrete is the most used material all over the world. Nowadays the use of concrete in buildings increase rapidly. So the rapid use of fine aggregate leads to shortage of resource and causes some environmental issues like soil erosion, groundwater table deficiency. Restrictions in river sand supply increases the cost which is 2 to 3 times more compared to past 4 years. Hence we using an alternative material to replace the use of natural river sand. We use M-Sand as alternative material for tine aggregate in concrete. Cost of m-Sand is comparatively half to the cost of river sand. So it is also an economical material. This experimental study represents the variations in the strength of concrete when replacing river sand by M-Sand from 0% to 100% in M20 grade of concrete along with 5%, 10%, 15% replacement by crumb rubber. The compressive strength of concrete cubes at the age of 7, 21, and 28 days after curing. Casting of specimen mould of size 150mm x 150mm X 150mm was used to cast specimens for compression test. This result gives the clear idea of using M-Sand in concrete as a substitute for river sand.
