EFFICIENT VIRTUAL NETWORK EMBEDDING WITH BACKTRACKING AVOIDANCE FOR DYNAMIC WIRELESS NETWORK
Virtual network embedding (VNE) is the process of mapping virtual networks (VNs) to physical networks (PNs). The goal of VNE is to find a mapping that satisfies the QoS requirements of the VNs while minimizing the resource utilization of the PN. Backtracking is a common problem in VNE. Backtracking occurs when the VNE algorithm cannot find a mapping for a VN without violating the QoS requirements of the VN. This can lead to suboptimal solutions and wasted resources. This paper proposes a new VNE algorithm that avoids backtracking. The proposed algorithm uses a combination of heuristics and backtracking avoidance techniques to find a mapping for a VN. The proposed algorithm was evaluated using a number of simulations. The results show that the proposed algorithm is able to find a mapping for a VN without backtracking and that it is able to minimize the resource utilization of the PN.
