CONSISTENT OBJECT SHARING FOR EDGE SERVICES
Edge services are becoming increasingly popular as a way to improve the performance and scalability of distributed applications. However, one of the challenges of edge services is ensuring that objects are shared consistently across multiple proxies. This paper presents a system called Quiver that addresses this challenge. Quiver uses a two-phase commit protocol to ensure that all proxies that are accessing an object agree on the state of the object. Quiver also supports optimizations for single-object reads that do not involve migration of the object.Quiver has been used to build an e-commerce application and a distributed network traffic modeling service. The results show that Quiver can significantly improve the performance and scalability of these applications.
