CONCEPTUALIZING MINDFULNESS: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW AND FUTURE RESEARCH DIRECTIONS

The purpose of this paper is three-pronged: First, to identify the necessary and sufficient conditions of the construct based on the diverse definitions, second, to identify the existing research streams, third, to discuss future concerns and areas of research on conceptualizing mindfulness. Design/Methodology/approach: In this study, the authors used a structured approach to review the various definitions of mindfulness in literature from different viewpoints and themes. Findings: The literature review identifies different schools of thought used to conceptualize mindfulness. The paper analyzes the dimensions and correlates while identifying mindfulness's necessary and sufficient attributes.
