The growth and yield performance was high to combined inoculums. The shoot length 82.3cm, shoot weight 24.30mg and root height 21.2cm, root weight 4.80g pland harvested at 60th day were higher than the Rhizobium and Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhizae (VAM) inoculums. The control plant shows poor stimulation of shoot length 47cm, shoot weight 11.40mg, root weight 1.40mg, root height 13.5cm compared to inoculums treated seeds. The present study revealed that the total chlorophyll content of the combined inoculums was very high (2.80mg/g) at 60th day than other inoculants. The protein content was 17.33%, and nitrogen content was found in combined inoculums 2.77% at 60th day. Based on the results discussed above it may be concluded that the possible improvement in nitrogen fixation is achievable in Cowpea by combined inoculation with Rhizobium and VAM fungi.
