ADSORPTION OF Pb (II) BY A METAL-ORGANIC FRAMEWORK OF CALCIUM

M.Rajeshkumar, T.Sudha, S.Jeeva, R.Kavitha

Heavy metals are among the causes of water pollution, and they are regarded as the most dangerous because of their high toxicity to human health, their capacity to seriously harm the kidneys, brain, and nerves, and their tendency to result in birth defects. Due to their promising characteristics, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) may be a good choice for applications involving the removal of heavy metals. By using the deposition approach and benzene-1, 2, 4, 5-tetracarboxylate as a linker, a calcium-based metal-organic framework was created. In order to effectively adsorb Pb (II) pollutant ions, the MOF was first characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) studies.
