USING AN ASSISTED MICROWAVE TECHNIQUE, ENVIRONMENTALLY BENEFICIAL CUCURBITA PEPO WASTE IS CONVERTED TO NATURAL DYE
The viability of extracting a natural color from Cucurbita pepo waste is discussed in this research. Utilizing an unusual, environmentally friendly extraction technique with the use of a microwave, the extraction was completed. Total polyphenols, condensed tannins, chlorophyll, and carotenoids are used to describe the chemical makeup of the solution that was extracted from Cucurbita pepo waste. The plant matter's dry bulk, the microwave's power, and the extraction time were all taken into consideration. The obtained results were examined in order to determine the ideal circumstances for extracting natural color from Cucurbita pepo waste. According to the obtained results, the ideal extraction conditions are 70 g/L of dry plant mass, 750 W of microwave irradiation power, and extraction time of 20 min.
