ANIMAL SOCIAL NETWORK ANALYSIS: A PROMISING METHOD FOR THE STUDY OF SOCIALITY

Dr. M. Meenambal

Together, social animals communicate and live, developing intricate social structures and relationships. Although most studies don't directly quantify these interactions, they can have significant effects on fitness. We will gain a better grasp of social complexity and the effects of both direct and indirect interactions with an approach that explicitly evaluates relationships. The study of social groupings as networks of nodes connected by social ties is known as social network analysis. This method looks at people and groups in the context of their interactions with one another. The field can advance by identifying and measuring particular social relationship characteristics, many of which are not represented by more conventional sociality metrics, such as group size. sophisticated techniques for building and analysing networks.
