A NOVEL APPROACH FOR BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS FROM CRYPTOSTEGIA GRANDIFLORA AND ITS PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES.

S.Abinaya and K.Kalavathi

Cryptostegia grandiflora, commonly known as Rubber Vine, is a plant species recognized for its widespread presence in various regions. This research aimed to explore a novel approach for isolating bioactive compounds from Cryptostegia grandiflora and evaluate their pharmacological activities. Initially, a comprehensive phytochemical analysis was conducted using various extraction techniques to isolate and identify the bioactive constituents present in Cryptostegia grandiflora. The major classes of phytochemicals investigated included alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, phenolic compounds, and glycosides. Advanced analytical tools such as chromatography (HPLC and GC-MS) and spectroscopy were employed for the identification and quantification of these compounds. Subsequently, the pharmacological activities of the isolated bioactive compounds were assessed using in vitro and in vivo experiments. In vitro studies involved screening for potential antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties. Cellular and molecular assays were employed to understand the mechanisms of action and the impact on various cellular pathways. The diverse pharmacological activities observed in this study warrant further investigation to develop these bioactive compounds into potential drug candidates
