Morphometric study is basic fundamental tool for knowing about development of organisms, growth, systematic, variations and structure of population characteristics of fish (Kov and Copp, 1999) .Morphometric analysis plays an important role to estimate relationship between various parts of body (Carpenter et al. 1996) . Morphometric characters are useful tool to study morphometric measurement and identify fish stock (Turan et al. 2004) .Fish shows greater differences in morphological traits in between the populations and within species than any other vertebrates (Allendorf et al. 1987; Wimberger, 1992) . Morphometric analysis provides an important tool to make sure of genetic and environmental stock identification of different fish population, the differences in a populations arise due to changes in the environment factors or through genetic variations, which result from natural selection during long periods of geographical isolation (Hubbs, 1941; Vladykow, 1934; McHugh, 1954) .The present study was carried out record morphometric analysis, which will be of great use as a guide for identification. Fish sampling was carried out from January to June 2022 in the river at regular intervals. Fishes were collected from sampling stations viz, Oottamalai, Hogenakkal, Sampling of fishes was carried out with the help of local anglers by using different types of nets and angles. The fishes caught were examined for their morphological features, colour bands or spots present on the body and width recorded along with the length and weight of the individuals. Photoraphs were taken by digital compact camera.

Fish fins, Rays, Gills, and Scales.
