THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ASSERTIVENESS AND SELF ESTEEM AMONG COLLEGE STUDENTS
The present study aims to find the relationship between assertiveness and self esteem among college students. 100 samples were collected from 54 males and 46 females of college students from different region of Tamil Nadu. The tools used for this study consists of 'Rathus Assertiveness schedule' developed by Spencer Rathus (1973). This is a 30 items inventory which measures a person's level of assertiveness. And 'Rosenbergs self esteem scale' developed by Morris Rosenberg (1965). This scale consists of 10 items which measures the level of self esteem. The data obtained were analyzed using Independent t-test, and Pearson correlation method. Result shows that there is a positive relationship between assertiveness and self esteem among college students.
