ENZYME PURIFICATION OF INULINASE ENZYME PRODUCED BY INDUSTRIAL MICROORGANISMS AND ITS MEDICAL APPLICATION

Ms. K.HAMSA, Dr. P. PAZHANIRAJ

Enzymes play a pivotal role in numerous industrial and biomedical applications due to their exceptional catalytic abilities. Among these enzymes, inulinase stands out as a significant catalyst with immense potential in various industries, including food, biofuel, and pharmaceutical sectors. This abstract focuses on the purification of inulinase enzyme produced by industrial microorganisms and explores its promising medical applications. Inulinase is an enzyme that hydrolyzes inulin, a naturally occurring polysaccharide found in various plants, into fructose and glucose. It has garnered considerable attention for its involvement in the conversion of inulin-rich substrates to valuable fructose syrups, which serve as a low-calorie alternative to sucrose. The production of inulinase using industrial microorganisms provides an efficient and cost-effective approach, making it a sustainable option for large-scale applications. The process of enzyme purification is vital to ensure high enzyme activity and specificity. Various purification techniques, including chromatography, precipitation, and ultrafiltration, have been employed to isolate and concentrate inulinase from complex fermentation broths. Through these purification steps, the enzyme is obtained in a more concentrated and biochemically pure form, enhancing its potential for applications in different industries. In conclusion, the purification of inulinase enzyme produced by industrial microorganisms offers a sustainable and cost-effective strategy for obtaining high-quality enzyme preparations. The medical applications of inulinase, particularly in diabetes management and cancer treatment, hold considerable potential for improving patient outcomes. As research in this area progresses, it
