D.DHANALAKSHMI and Dr.S.GOWRI

Ichnocarpus frutescence (Family: Apocynaceae) is used in several traditional medicine. The present study aimed to synthesis and characterization of Manganese oxide nanoparticles from I. frutescence leaf extract.  Synthesis of Manganese oxide nanoparticles was carried by stirring of (40 mM) Manganese acetate with hot aqueous extract of dry leaf of I. frutescence with reference to green synthesis method. The synthesised Manganese oxide nanoparticles were characterized such as shape and size by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Powder UV-Visible Spectroscope, Powder XRD (X-ray Diffraction), Particle size analyser, FE-SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) and Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM). The results of above mentioned studies were show evidence for the formation of Manganese oxide nanoparticles in the range of 50–100 nm and spherical in shape. The findings of FT-IR show the synthesised Manganese oxide nanoparticles possess various functional groups which may harbour several biological properties.
