THE CONFLICT BETWEEN REALITY AND IMAGINATION IN EMMA DONOGHUE’S POEM

Emma Donoghue was born on 24 October 1969 in Dublin, Ireland. She is a Irish-Canadian playwright, literary historian, novelist, and screenwriter. Now she is living in Canada, She is best known for her international bestseller Room, shortlisted for the Man Booker and Orange Prizes.Donoghue's seventh novel was Room (2010), in this novel she balances thesensationalistic turn of her imagination with the more conservative theme of motherhood, one of her newer interest and personal themes. The story is about Jack is a five years old boy who has never seen the outside world and he does not know which is a real one.The project entitled the conflict between reality and imagination in Emma Donoghue's Room is divided into the following chapters. The introductory chapter deals with origin of Canadian literature, biography of the author and growth of the novel. The poem deals with style and nan-ative techniques of Donoghue. It deals with the art of characterization. The novel analyses the thenle of conflict between reality and imagination and the finalsummarizes the whole story and deals with the hypothesis of the researcher.
