STUDY OF CYPERMETHRIN IN FISH TILAPIA MOSSAMBICA
Many pesticides have been reported to produce many biochemical changes in fish at sub-lethal levels. The present study has been undertaken to understand the effect of cypermethrin in fish Tilapia mossambica. The biochemical alterations of total proteins and percent changes over control. The increasing use of pesticides causes chemical pollution results potential health hazards to livestock. Since majority of pesticides is known to bio accumulate in the lipid tissues of fish and other animals, transfer via to human bodies, the risk to the health of the people who consume these fish seems to considerable. When the pesticides meet internal organs, irreversible changes in metabolic activities take place. Proteins are indeed of primary and paramount because they appear to confer their biological specificity among various types of cells when exposed tocypermethrin in tilapia mossambica to sub lethal concentrations the cardiac muscles showed significant decrease in the levels of proteins. The decreased trend of the protein content as observed in the present study. The present work indicates that cypermethrin caused alterations in the protein metabolism of fish Tilapia mossambica. The altered mobility and low content of proteins reflects a change in the rate of synthesis and degradation of protein, lowered working capacity under the impact of accumulation of pollutants leading to an alteration in function indicating the vulnerability of the organ.
