A SECURE DATA HIDING TECHNIQUE IN COMPRESSED VIDEO

T.Sathya Priya, N.Savitha

Data hiding is the process of embedding secret data into a cover medium, such as an image or video, in such a way that the presence of the hidden data is not detectable. This can be used to protect sensitive data, such as passwords or credit card numbers, from unauthorized access. This paper proposes a new data hiding technique for compressed video. The proposed technique is based on the motion vectors used to encode and reconstruct the video. The motion vectors are a good choice for data hiding because they are not easily visible to the human eye, and they are also relatively insensitive to changes in the video content. The proposed technique uses a greedy adaptive threshold to select the motion vectors that are used to hide the secret data. The threshold is chosen to minimize the distortion to the reconstructed video, while still ensuring that the secret data is hidden from detection. The proposed technique was implemented and tested for hiding data in natural sequences of multiple groups of pictures (GOPs). The results show that the proposed technique is able to hide a significant amount of data without significantly affecting the quality of the reconstructed video. The proposed technique is a promising new approach to data hiding in compressed video. It is secure, efficient, and easy to implement.
