Abstract :
The word ‘textile’ has been derived from the Latin word ‘textile’ means to weave. It is obvious therefore, those textiles are understood to be those objects which have been lubricated by some kind of weaving or have been made of woven fabrics. The use of open weave has enabled production of lighter, breathable, fabrics to ensure better wearing comfort says “Finishing”. The effects of microbes on textiles and humans has been increased nowadays, a microbe or microorganism is an organism that is too small. Microorganisms like bacteria, fungi, mildew, mold and yeasts, are found everywhere in nature, even in hostile environments. The human skin is usually crowded with innumerable microorganisms. A suitable temperature, moisture, dust and receptive surface provide perfect conditions for their growth. In favorable conditions certain bacteria can grow from a single germ to millions in a very short period of time.  Many different finishes applied on textiles are excellent source of nutrients for microbes, making textiles susceptible to microbial attack. Apart from their effects on textiles, microbes can be a source of many problems to human beings, ranging from simple unpleasant odour to physical irritation, allergy, toxic responses, infection and diseases. Microbes can easily affect human especially children. Hence, their costumes should have special finishes and it will provide more benefits while it is finished by herbals without chemical presence.
