THE CORROSION INHIBITION EFFECT OF GREEN INHIBITOR COATING FOR ALUMINIUM METAL
Aluminium and its alloys represent an important category of materials due to their high technological value and wide range of industrial application especially in aerospace and household industries. The use of these materials in lightweight installations in widespread. The need to develop the corrosion inhibitor of natural products of plant origin, which have been found to exhibit good inhibition efficiencies. This area of research is of much importance because being inexpensive, readily available and renewable sources of materials, plant products are environmental friendly and ecologically acceptable. In the present study, investigates the inhibiting effect of leaves extract of Gymnema sylvestra on aluminium corrosion in acidic solution using weight loss method, kinetic and thermodynamic parameters have been evaluated. Two more techniques such as potentiodynamic polarization and AC impedance technique has to done and the results to be compared with weight loss method. The inhibition action occurred through the adsorption of the extract on aluminium surface, the adsorption process follows Freundlish adsorption isotherm.
