INDEPENDENT DOMINATION IN GRAPH THEORY

Abstract :
Graph theory is one of the most beautiful branch in branches of modern mathematics and computer science which has a wide range of research scope. Independent sets play an important role in graph theory and otherareas like discrete optimization. They appear in matching theory, coloring ofgraph and in trees. Our aim in this chapter is to consider independentdomination and characterize those vertices whose removal increases,decreases or does not change independent domination number.Further we also characterize those vertices whose removal decreases the independent domination number in terms of maximal independent sets with minimum cardinality.
