A STUDY ON PUBLIC EXPECTATIONS AND OPINION ABOUT FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT (FDI) IN RETAIL SECTOR WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO SALEM CITY

This study has been conducted under the title of "A Study on Public Expectation and Opinion about Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Retailing Sector" with special reference to Salem city people. This research study is based on descriptive research type and population of the research among the Salem city sampling method is convincing sampling method. Sampling size is 250 from the Salem city people. Tools used for simple percentage analysis F-test, average score analysis Chi square Test analysis above the analysis has been used and interpretation of data based on the analysis. The research has been found that Salem people expectation and opinion about FDI in Retailing sector. The small shop and local players will suffer. Public point of view more benefit from FDI in retailing concept. The research suggested and concluded FDI in retailing sector concept help to growth of our nation and another thing the local players facing many problems in their market.
