A GREEN BIOGENIC APPROACH FOR SYNTHESIS OF SILVER NANO PARTICLES AND USING LEMON GRASS AND ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTIES AND IT’S CHACTERIZATION

Dr.R.JAYAGANESH and Ms.N.ROOPA

In this study, lemon grass (Cymbopogon citratus) extract is used to investigate a green biogenic method for the manufacture of silver nanoparticles. Concerns about the environmental impact of nanoparticles and the usage of dangerous chemicals in their production have been brought up by the rising demand for them. The highlight this study is viability of lemon grass as a green and sustainable resource for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles. The synthesized AgNPs exhibited significant antibacterial properties against pathogenic bacteria, showcasing their potential as a natural and eco-friendly alternative to combat bacterial infections. The cost-effective and scalable synthesis process, coupled with the antibacterial efficacy of AgNPs, suggests their applicability in diverse fields, such as biomedical applications, water purification, and food preservation. Further studies are warranted to explore the mechanisms underlying the antibacterial activity and to optimize the synthesis conditions to enhance the nanoparticles' performance for specific applications.
