STUDIES IN IMPACT OF PESTICIDES USED FOR PEST AND DISEASE MANAGEMENT IN MULBERRY ON SOIL MICROBES AND BIOCHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS IN MULBERRY LEAF

Dr.K.REVATHI and Dr.G.SAKTHIVEL

The use of pesticides for pest and disease management in mulberry cultivation plays a critical role in ensuring high crop yields and quality. However, the indiscriminate and excessive application of pesticides may lead to adverse effects on soil microbial communities and biochemical constituents in mulberry leaves. This study aims to investigate the impact of pesticides commonly used in mulberry cultivation on soil microbes and the biochemical composition of mulberry leaves. In conclusion, this research highlights the potential risks associated with the use of pesticides in mulberry cultivation. It underscores the importance of adopting sustainable and integrated pest management strategies to minimize the adverse impacts on soil microbial communities and the biochemical composition of mulberry leaves. Policymakers, farmers, and researchers can utilize these findings to make informed decisions and promote environmentally friendly practices in mulberry cultivation.
